Principal Consultant, Total Rewards
Position Summary
The Principal Consultant, Total Rewards, works directly with the Vice President, Total Rewards, and collaborates closely with leaders across the team's various subfunctions. This role will support a diverse range of strategic and operational initiatives, including executive and equity compensation, sales incentive planning, broad-based compensation, benefits and wellness strategies, and total rewards training and communications. The ideal candidate will help develop key enterprise deliverables—such as materials for the Talent and Compensation Committee, proxy reports, Total Rewards communication, and incentive models—while promoting operational excellence and supporting cross-functional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Compensation & Governance:

Partner with the VP, Total Rewards on long-term incentive design, equity program modeling, and performance-based award analysis.

Support the design, modeling, and administration of executive compensation programs.

Prepare, validate, and maintain materials for the Compensation Committee and senior leadership.

Own Total Rewards deliverables related to SEC compliance, including pay-versus-performance reporting, CEO pay ratio, and other required disclosures.
Sales Compensation & Incentive Design:

Serve as a subject-matter resource for sales incentive and commission plan design, modeling, optimization, and performance monitoring.

Partner with Total Rewards, Sales Operations, and IT leaders in the RFP, selection, and implementation of a Sales Compensation Management SaaS solution.
Total Rewards Integration & Operational Excellence:

Support enterprise compensation initiatives such as benchmarking, job architecture updates, market pricing, and structure refresh cycles.

Develop and deliver leader-facing compensation training programs.

Lead the design of process and system enhancements to improve simplification, data integrity, reporting, and compliance.

Provide consultative support to HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders.
Benefits & Wellness Strategy, Planning & Compliance:

Collaborate with Enterprise Benefits and Wellness leader to evaluate, design, and administer health, welfare, retirement, and wellness programs.

Support annual renewals, benchmarking, cost modeling, and RFP processes.

Assist with communication materials, program updates, and employee education efforts.

Support ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

7+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, with demonstrated depth in compensation.

Experience supporting proxy reporting preferred.

Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and exceptional attention to details.

Proficiency in HRIS and compensation tools preferred.

Effective communication skills with the ability to manage confidential information and partner across functions.

People leadership experience is an advantage.

Progress toward CCP, CECP, CEBS, or related certifications preferred.

Pay Rate: $153,500 - $182,500 Salary
Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
