Job Summary

The ideal candidate will want to be challenged with new technology, have a detailed understanding of virtualization, public cloud products, services, applications.  To be successful, the AMN Senior Cloud Computing Engineer (Sr CCE) will need to apply sophisticated technical knowledge to architect, build, configure, deploy and support AMN's public cloud computing infrastructure in Azure, supporting all server operating systems, networking, directory services, backup solutions, cloud native PaaS and other enterprise system level applications. The position requires the application of sophisticated judgment and analysis in the evaluation, selection, design, configuration, and maintenance of application platforms hosted in Azure. Additionally, success in the role figures out ongoing improvement of processes and applying best practices to meet business, security, cost and agility requirements. Support is generally for large scale systems with high criticality to the business. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy and maintain a cloud computing environment sufficient to support current and future organizational needs.
  • Establish Technical Proficiency in systems and functions assigned as a primary subject matter expert (SME).
  • Develop and automate processes to expedite and streamline IT and business processes for technology assigned as a primary subject matter expert (SME).
  • Collaborate with business, IT associates, and outside vendors to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems required to fulfill business objectives and processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate operating efficiency, server performance, bandwidth usage and error logs to identify and correct problems as they arise.
  • Respond to issues and problems with solid engineering solutions that align with organizational initiatives and strategies.
  • Analyze information systems problems to identify and correct problem areas while maintaining records, inventories and technical documentation.
  • Correlate analysis from system telemetry to identify issues before they become problems.
  • Conduct capacity planning according to industry accepted best practices making sure that leadership has information as needed to formulate budgets.
  • Establish, supervise and carry out procedures required for efficient management of the infrastructure.
  • Design, lead and direct (as needed) support of both physical and virtual infrastructure.
  • Design, lead and direct (as needed) support of technology assigned as a primary subject matter expert (SME).
  • Evaluate, customize and maintain technology assigned as a primary subject matter expert (SME).
  • Review, evaluate and recommend new or upgraded systems software packages and related hardware, based on established and emerging standards
  • Participate in a geographically dispersed 24 x 7 support organization.
  • Maintain awareness of new developments for technology assigned as a primary domain expert (SME).
  • Advanced troubleshooting of production issues as needed, including producing root cause analysis reports when required.
  • Work collaboratively with department heads and other IT department members to address requests, resolve complaints and issues on a service-oriented, timely basis
  • Gather and/or develop requirements for changing business needs and translate them into technical solutions when appropriate.
  • Lead technical projects for technologies assigned as a primary domain expert (SME).
  • Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams.
  • Design and implement system backup procedures, real time replication and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Design and run maintenance and utility programs on server to ensure optimum performance. 
  • Create custom scripts for deployment, monitoring and reporting as needed.
  • Create and maintain system user documentation.
  • Maintain records to ensure that software licensing follows vendor EULAs.
  • Provide technical support to staff in a courteous manner.
  • Perform other duties as required or requested

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree | Preferred

Minimum Work Experience

  • Experience working in an Agile engineering environment and able to lead SCRUM rituals Microsoft OS, Cloud & Application ecosystems (Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, Azure etc.)Microsoft Development tools.
  • 7+ years of successful experience as a network engineer.
  • At least 2yrs of recent experience with Azure Cloud.
  • Background in healthcare preferred.

Key Skills

  • Advanced platform knowledge of the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform
  • Advanced level knowledge of the platform, operating systems, and protocols to be supported including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, VMware virtualization, TCP/IP.
  • Linux Systems Administration
  • Demonstrated proficiency and ability to design and lead secure scalable solutions using Azure services (VM, Blob Storage, VNet, NSGs, ASGs, VNAs, AAD, KeyVault, APIM, AFD, vWAN, AKS, App Services, Databricks, Azure SQL, etc.)
  • Sophisticated scripting and automation skills for development of ARM templates to support ADO pipelines enabling deployment of resources and environments using IAC
  • Management at scale.
  • Security at scale, experienced knowledge of Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, Azure Security best practices.
  • CI/CD & Automation Tools (ARM, BICEP, Azure DevOps)
  • Scripting/Automation (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting of Azure issues using Log Analytics, App-Insights
  • Configuration and management of Azure Monitor

    Pay Rate: $133,000 - $158,000 Salary

    Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
