Job Summary

    The Cancer Registry Workforce Manager oversees all Cancer Registry operations, ensuring client satisfaction, technical support, and high-quality, timely work. This role involves leadership of consultants, providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) support, and promoting core values. Key responsibilities include managing client and consultant relationships, addressing issues promptly, and supporting the development of Cancer Advisory projects.

    Job Responsibilities

    Clients and Consultants:

    • Ensure smooth onboarding of new consultants and provide ongoing support.
    • Lead multiple projects to ensure target deadlines are met.
    • Address client and internal consultant issues promptly.
    • Monitor and manage 35+ consultants ensuring strong performance with productivity and quality metrics.
    • Collaborate with internal Team Leads to ensure quality and productivity.
    • Identify educational needs to maintain a 95% accuracy rate in abstracting.
    • Conduct annual and interim performance reviews as needed.
    • Maintain positive relationships with consultants, clients, and internal teams.
    • Manage staffing, including backfill and vacation coordination.
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for consultants and clients.
    • Escalate critical concerns to leadership when necessary.

    Internal Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert SME within, offering educational opportunities through modules, webinars, and tip sheets.
    • Participate in meetings and projects.
    • Support Project Management leadership by standardizing processes, tracking, and reporting.
    • Manage project management tools and coordinate IT-related tasks.
    • Increase usage of project coordination and tracking tools.
    • Lead or participate in small-to-medium scale projects from initiation to closure.

    Qualifications

      Education & Years of Experience

      • Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 9-11 years of work experience

      Certifications

      • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) (Mandatory) or
      • Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) (Mandatory)
      • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) (Preferred)
      • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) (Preferred)
      • Maintains Continuing Education Unit (CEU) requirements and Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) in good standing with the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)

      Additional Experience

      • Experience with remote data abstraction, report writing and CoC accreditation requirements and associated software applications
      • Experience with various Cancer Databases and EHR software applications
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

      Work Environment / Physical Requirements

      • Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
      • Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

        Pay Rate: $83,500 - $99,000 Salary

        Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
