Manager, Corporate Payroll

The Payroll Manager leads, develops, and oversees operations of mix of Payroll leaders and team members in support of the payroll strategy. Manages team-level performance, coach team members, and lead strategic initiatives. Grows department performance by achieving timely and accurate payroll processing; ultimately impacting customer satisfaction, revenue, and profit.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages vendor relationship with Workday for payroll processing.

  • Monitors details in payment trends for all Payroll items by reviewing pay line items in order to control cost of sale and create accurate paychecks.

  • Develops and implements standards, procedures, and controls to improve data entry efficiency, accuracy, and performance.

  • Monitors compliance with AMN’s Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), legal, tax, and financial policies and procedures by ensuring necessary reviews and approvals take place.

  • Troubleshoots case by case production issues leveraging technical expertise, system knowledge, and organizational agility in order to resolve the most complex clinician/physician and client issues.

  • Interprets & reports team metrics to senior leadership.

  • Hires, develops, mentors, and coaches team members through effective communication, leadership skills to provide feedback, support increased performance, and successfully lead the team through change.

  • Empowers senior team members to stretch into challenging assignments in order to build bench strength and balance strategic and tactical aspects of the role using career pathing approaches.

  • Monitors team performance against department goals and manage Performance Improvement Plan process when needed.

  • Implements new processes across multiple departments (shared services, business and corporate) by taking lead role in analysis, testing, and evaluation.

  • Process Owner for all payroll relevant systems in order to assign security, ensure segregation of duties, and oversee communication and training on system updates.

  • Leads initiatives related to process improvement or system implementation including needs analysis, design, testing, implementation, and ongoing evaluation.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 7+ years of prior multi-state payroll experience including Workday

  • 3+ years in a lead or supervisory role

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree | Preferred

Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) | American Payroll Association (APA) | Preferred

  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) | American Payroll Association (APA) | Preferred

Pay Rate: $92,500 - $110,000 Salary

Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
