In 2002, AMN established its own software development and maintenance division, bringing in-house what had previously been outsourced since the company's inception. In December of that year, Matthew Brown joined the Information Technology Quality Management department.

Mr. Brown, who came to AMN from First American Title Company, was hired as senior quality assurance engineer, was later promoted to quality assurance lead and is currently the company's quality assurance manager. The software specialist said he was attracted to AMN for more of a challenge than his previous job offered. "I had done pretty much everything there that I could."

In helping to bring a division that had never existed into one that could address the day-to-day needs of the nurse staffing industry's largest and fastest growing company, Mr. Brown took on some pretty hefty responsibilities. His group helped set up the company's standardized policies and procedures Web site, and established quality assurance processes across the nursing division.

"We've accomplished a lot in the nearly six years that I have been here," said Mr. Brown, "but perhaps the most satisfying was putting in place and successfully testing our proprietary systems."

Today, Mr. Brown handles quality assurance for several divisions in the AMN family.

Mr. Brown's easy-going attitude is noted and appreciated by everyone, both on his QA team and throughout the company.

With a résumé that could no doubt land him a great position at many other companies, Mr. Brown has never actively sought out other opportunities since coming to AMN because he loves what the company stands for, as well as its location and on-site benefits. "Where else could I get indoor parking, a café, and a gym, and be just minutes from the beach? Not to mention all the wonderful people that I work with!"
